EXPECT a tug on the heart strings when introspective indie-pop purveyors Peacock Affect make their Cove debut on Saturday, March 11.

Without a doubt, this is one for the real musos out there fully willing to embrace a state of moody melancholia in the tranquil setting of Hope Cove.

Influenced by the likes of Morrissey and Elliot Smith, Exeter-based George Holman starting writing his own music after deciding his old band didn't play enough sad, emotional songs.

And a lot of people believe in this dude.

Last year saw regular airplay on Radio 1 thanks to Huw Stephens and a deal struck with Universal Japan.

With tracks like ‘Who Cares if You Exist’ and ‘It Just Isn’t The Same Anymore’ - you know what you’re getting.

“My songs aren’t ones to dance to,” says Holman.

“They are all about my experiences and feelings, It’s emotional guitar music for the heavy hearted.”

This guy could go all the way.
