Beans on Toast - Hope Cove Beer & Music Festival
DRUNK folk singer, barefoot troubadour and cult legend Beans on Toast shocks Hope Cove - headlining the 4th annual Beer and Music Festival on Bank Holiday Monday, May 28
A hippy, a punk, a poet, a die-hard romantic and an eternal optimist, he should be right at home when he touches down to top birthday celebrations at The Cove.
Singing simple songs that tackle big issues, political protest songs for today and honest, open love letters - expect to laugh and also think on hearing those trademark no-holds-barred lyrics and quick wit.
Over the course of a decade-long career, he’s sold out countless headline shows, played arenas with his old pal Frank Turner, travelled 10,000 miles touring North America and is an institution at Glastonbury - his 2016 show on the Avalon stage his biggest yet with an unprecedented turn-out bulging out of the sides of the tent.
Beans will arrive fresh from a May tour playing legendary venues such as Sheffield’s Leadmill to promote debut book ‘Drunk Folk Stories’ - a collection of ten, short true-life tales about songwriting, drinking and travelling and featuring the likes of Billy Bragg, Banksy and The Cookie Monster.
An honest guy, true to his ethics and happy to tell it how it is, Beans tops the bill on a rollercoaster four-days on the South West coast.
