“The Heavy Hitters!” – Hew Stephens (BBC Radio 1)

BOHEMIAN violin-led trio The People’s String Foundation bring a stunning combo of passionate theatrics and Urban Gypsy sounds to The Cove Cafe Bar on Friday, April 24.

The Cornwall-based band embrace the experimental and avant-garde, slipping into the realms of jazz, hip-hop beat work and Middle Eastern melodies.

Performing as a duo, three-piece or expanding into a 24 piece orchestra, this collection of talented musicians are fast becoming recognised as the heavyweights of the South West.

Led by Jazz singer Ben Sutcliffe, his virtuoso violin styles have seen him play with the likes of Ralph McTell, The Levellers, The Stranglers, The Yardbirds, The 3 Daft Monkeys, and Gary Stringer from Reef.

Having smashed Glastonbury last year, the band drop into Hope Cove in preparation for another busy summer of festivals.

These guys are guarenteed to move the heart and tap those feet.

Live from 9.30pm, admission is free.

Music Meal Deals will once again be in operation – booking is advised.
